Dear Colleagues and Friends of the AWRA-NCRS,

You’re invited to participate in 2018 National Capital Region Water Resources Symposium that will be held April 6, 2018 at the University of the District of Columbia. This one-day symposium will bring together experts from governmental agencies, academia, the private sector, and non-profits to discuss challenges and opportunities for sustainable management of water resources and infrastructure in the region, as well as nationally and internationally.

This year’s symposium theme is Resilient Solutions for Water Management in Urban Environments: Advances in Research, Technology, Financing and PolicyFeatured speakers at the plenary session include Dr. Sudhir Murthy (keynote), Innovation Chief, DC Water; and invited panelists: Tyson E. Vaughan, PhD (moderator), AAAS Science & Technology Policy Fellow, US Army Corps of Engineers, Washington, D.C.;  Alexandra Campbell-Ferrari, JD, Executive Director, The Center for Water Security and Cooperation; Fanny Carlet, PhD, Sustainable Urban Solutions, LLC; and  Erica Brown, Chief Strategy and Sustainability Officer, Association of Metropolitan Water Agencies. Our luncheon speaker is G. Tracy Mehan, III, Executive Director, Government Affairs, American Water Works Association. In addition, 30 research papers will be presented at con-current sessions and poster exhibits, including Special Session: Advances in Water Reuse Technology and Implementation.
